Volunteer-Centered Thoughts: Be Still
As leaders, we are often so busy that we don’t have time to sit and think about what is most important. As I write this, we are approaching Christmas (and at a rapid pace from where I stand). So, while I take some much needed time off, consider taking the following steps to prepare what God has for you in the coming year:
- Start an in-depth Bible Study before the start of the new year (there is nothing like being ahead as you start a fresh calendar year)
- Spend some alone time with God - get back to the relationship with the Lord that you may be missing. Tell Him what you are thinking, how you are feeling, and what is worrying you
- Seek His Will in what your church or team should be focusing on in the coming months
They may seem like “no brainers”, but simple things like these can get crowded out in the noise of the holiday season.
See you in the new year when I return for more in the Volunteer-Centered series!
